How to utilize the content on demand widget

The L Squared Hub offers a flexible and convenient Content on Demand feature that allows you to display important media files like corporate videos or reports instantly, without needing to follow a scheduled program. This feature enables you to easily switch between your regular signage content and an on-demand library, all at the press of a button. Here's how you can set up and use Content on Demand in the L Squared Hub.

Steps to Set Up Content on Demand:

1. Log In to the L Squared Hub:

   • Use your credentials to log into the L Squared Hub.

2. Navigate to the Content Library:

   • Once logged in, go to the Content Library tab.

3. Create the Content on Demand Widget:

   • Click on the Add New Content button at the top of the page.
   • Select the Create Widget tab from the left column.
   • Use the search bar to search for Content on Demand.
   • Two options will appear: Content on Demand and Content on Demand Button.
     • If using a TV display with a remote control, select Content on Demand.
   • Name your widget and click Next.

4. Set Up Categories and Content:

   • Create a Category and add the content you wish to include in your widget (videos, reports, etc.).
   • Once finished, click Save.

5. Schedule Your Content on Demand Widget:

   • Select your newly created widget and click on Schedule.
   • Give the schedule a Name, assign a Group, and set the Priority.
   • Ensure the Schedule Type is set to Content on Demand.
   • Choose the Date Range and select your Content on Demand Widget.
   • Finally, select the Target Device and save the schedule.

6. Setting Up Content on Demand for Signage with a Media Player:

   • If your signage uses a media player and lacks remote control, choose Content on Demand Button when creating the widget.
   • After naming your widget, click on Settings to specify the button label, icon, and icon position.
   • When scheduling, place the widget on a frame of the target signage to display it as a button.

7. Using Content on Demand:

   • Once the Content on Demand widget is scheduled, users can click on the on-screen button to launch it.
   • Clicking on a thumbnail will load the selected content in full view.
   • To exit, click the X in the top-right corner, which will close the Content on Demand screen and return the display to regular signage content.

The Content on Demand feature is already built into the L Squared Hub, so no additional apps or installations are needed. It's a powerful tool to instantly showcase everything from product demos to training videos at the click of a button.
