Emergency Message Overview

An overview of the emergency messaging feature in the L Squared Hub

The Emergency Message feature in the L Squared Hub allows you to override the regular content to broadcast urgent messages across your digital signage displays. This is a critical tool for delivering important updates or emergency information. When an emergency message is sent, it temporarily pauses the current content and displays the message full-screen for a specified time. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use this feature.

Steps to Send an Emergency Message:

  1. Log in to the L Squared Hub:

    • Use your credentials to log into the L Squared Hub.
  2. Locate the Emergency Message Tab:

    • On the left-hand side of the screen, find the Emergency Message option. It is the third option from the bottom.
  3. Open the Emergency Message Tab:

    • Click on the Emergency Message tab to open it.
  4. Send an Emergency Message:

    • You will see three tabs on your screen. To draft a new emergency message, click on Send Messages.
    • You have two options:
      • Select a Predefined Message: If you want to use an existing message, click on Select Predefined Message and choose one from the list.
      • Write a Custom Message: To create a new message, use the text box labeled Custom Message to draft your message.
        • If a predefined message is selected, your custom message will be added at the end of the predefined one.
  5. Set the Message Duration:

    • In the Duration section, you can either choose from a predefined time or set a custom duration for how long the emergency message will be displayed on the screen.
  6. Select Target Devices:

    • Under the Devices section, choose the devices where you want the emergency message to be broadcasted.

Once you've completed these steps, the emergency message will be displayed on the selected devices, overriding any content that was previously playing. This ensures your urgent messages reach the intended audience without delay.
