How to Create a QR Code Widget?

 

Here are the steps to create a QR Code widget:

 

1. Login to L Squared Hub.
2. Go to Content Library.
3. Click on “Add New Content” button.
4. Click on “Create Widget” tab.
5. Select the “QR Code” from the list in left panel.

 

6. Provide a name for the widget.

7. Choose the type of the QR code:

• Calendar Event b.
• Call
• Content
• Device Preview
• Email
• Location
• Plain Text
• SMS
• URL
• vCard
• WiFi

8. Click on “Save” button.

Calendar Event

Here you will create an event. Provide event name, location, Start-End time, etc.

 

This will generate a QR code for that event. When the user scans the QR code, it will display the event details where they can add it to their calendar.

 

    

 

Call

Provide the phone number for which you want to generate the QR Code.

This will generate a QR code for that phone number. When the user scans the QR code, a phone call will get initiated with the provided number.

   

 

Content

Choose a content from the Content Library for which you want to generate the QR Code.

This will generate a QR code for that content. When the user scans the QR code, it will open a webpage in the default browser of the phone and will load the selected content there.

 

Device Preview

Choose a device for which you want to generate the QR Code. Select the “Controls” checkbox if you want to show the Next-Previous buttons in the device preview on phone browser.

This will generate a QR code for that device. When the user scans the QR code, it will open a webpage in the default browser of the phone and will load the preview of that device.

 

Email

Provide email, subject and message for which you want to create the QR code.

This will generate a QR code for the email. When the user scans the QR code, it will display the event details where they can add it to their calendar.

 

Location

Provide coordinates or address or just click on map to drop a pin for the address for which you want to create the QR code.

This will generate a QR code for the email. When the user scans the QR code, it will open the default maps app on the phone and will show the address.

 

Plain Text

Provide the text for which you want to create the QR code.

This will generate a QR code for that text. When the user scans the QR code, it will search for the provided text in default search app installed on the phone or in browser.

 

 

SMS

Provide the contact number and message for which you want to create the QR code.

This will generate a QR code for the provided number and message. When the user scans the QR code, it will open the text message app on phone with the provided number and message.

 

URL

Provide the URL for which you want to create the QR code.

This will generate a QR code for that URL. When the user scans the QR code, it will open the provided URL in the default browser of the phone.

 

vCard

Provide all the information for the vCard for which you want to create the QR code.

This will generate a QR code for the provided vCard information. When the user scans the QR code, it will open the address book of the phone with provided information where user can save the contact.

 

WiFi

Provide SSID, Password and Network type for the WiFi for which you want to create the QR code.

This will generate a QR code for the WiFi. When the user scans the QR code, it will show option to join the WiFi if the provided information is correct.
