Register devices on the L Squared Hub dashboard map
Step 1: Open the "Register Device on Map" Window
- Click on the "Register Device on Map" button located at the bottom of the "Devices on Map" quad.
Step 2: Select the Device to Register
- In the "Register Device on Map" window, you must first select the device you wish to register on the map.
- Please note that the device you select must already be registered on the server.
Step 3: Choose Location Details
- Decide how you want to specify the device's location:
- If you want to provide a latitude and longitude instead of an address, select "Coordinate."
- This is useful in cases like a university campus or when you have multiple devices at one address, allowing for more accurate placement on the map.
- You can obtain latitude and longitude coordinates from Google Maps.
- Alternatively, you can manually find the location on the map by zooming in or out using the scroll button and panning by clicking and dragging.
- Simply click on the map at the desired location, and the system will fill in the correct latitude and longitude.
Step 4: Register the Device
- After specifying the location details, click on the "Register" button.
- The device will be registered at the location you specified on the map.
By following these steps, you can register a device on the map, either by entering coordinates or an address, depending on your specific needs and the number of devices at a given location.
