A overview on users in the L Squared Hub. Tips & Tricks such as how to invite a user, how to reset a users password, and how to assign designated roles for users
If you're an administrator in the L Squared Hub, then this brief overview is for you!
Here you will learn how to:
1. Invite new users to the L Squared Hub
2. How to send a user their forgotten password
3. Predefined Roles & Custom Roles
4. How to remove access to the L Squared Hub from Users
1. Inviting new users to the L Squared Hub
Inviting new users to the hub is simple. In the users dashboard, simply click on "Invite New User"
You will then be asked for the email of the user you would like to invite and their assigned role. The default roles listed are Administrator, Predefined roles, Menu Board user and Custom. We will dive deeper into these roles later on in this guide.
Once you have added the email and chose your predefined role for the user, they should have now received an invite to their email. Please advised the user to check their email's junk/spam folder if they have not received it in their inbox.
2. How to send a user their forgotten password
Simply click on the user that has forgotten their password. This should bring up a small overview dashboard of the user at the bottom of the page.
Select the button "Send password". Once selected, a email will be sent to the user with the password they have used to register.
3. Predefined Roles & Custom Roles
Predefined roles are default roles that we have in the L Squared hub. These roles have their permissions already set.
If you take a look at the Roles & Rights overview, you will be able to see what permissions and access the users assigned these designated roles have. For example, a "schedule manager" would only be able to essentially add/edit/remove schedules.
Custom Roles are roles you create while also customizing the access these roles will have in the case the predefined roles are not what you're looking for. For example, if you would like to have a user have access to the Content library AND Schedules but only these 2, then custom roles are what you're looking for.
To add a custom role, simply click on "Create New Role" in the "Roles and Rights" Tab in Users.
In here, you will be able to add a custom role name and also assign the permissions this role will have. Once completed, simply click on "Create".
4.How to remove access to the L Squared Hub from Users
If you would like to remove access to the L Squared Hub from a user. Simply click on the user and select "Block User"
Once Blocked, the User will no longer have access to the L Squared hub and will now be listed in the "Blocked Users" Tab. In the blocked user tab, you will be able to either completely delete the user or provide them access again.
