Creating The Wayfinding Map

How to create the wayfinding map

Creating the Wayfinding Map

  1. Login to: https://us.lsquared.com/wayFinding/#/
  2.  First, we must create a new Campus (For each location):
  3.  Add a building to your campus and then add floors to your building here
  4. Next upload your Floor maps, they need to be in SVG format (Scalable Vector Graphics)
  5. You can add tabs to your floor here. Tabs are Floor templates that you can reuse across different buildings. They can also be specific to each floor. You can create Tabs here: Tabs can refer to section of the building, or to describe facilities, offices, desks or storage rooms:
  6. When creating a tab, Name is what you will use inside the wayfinding hub, Label is what will be displayed on screen for viewers to select and scroll through:
  7. Inside each Tab you will be able to create items: Items here are the rooms/desks/facilities you have on each floor that you are going to create a destination for on the wayfinding Map. Take your time and review each floor map to know what kind of rooms you have, create all the items inside the tabs assigned to those floors.
  8. You can always update the tabs assigned to each floor later if you missed them during the floor creation from the Campus Menu:

  9. Edit Menu overview:
  • Buildings drop down menu: Switch between building to edit.
  • Floors drop down menu: Switch between floors to edit, make sure to press on the load button to update the floor map.
  • Tabs Panel: if a floor has multiple Tabs assigned, you can switch between and browse all the items created for each Tab.
  • Editor Panel: You can browse all the items assigned for each Tab. Here you can Mark a destination for each item on the map and then save a path to that item.
  • Each item on the map is represented by a Red Dot.
  • The location of the Wayfinding tablet is represented by a Green Dot.

To create a path for an item,
  • Navigate to the Edit Tab,
  • Choose the building and floor, load the map, scroll down until you see you item in the Editor Panel List.
  • Click on Mark destination, A new Red Dot will appear on the bottom right of the map and you will be able to drag it to wherever you want on the map to appropriate that room or facility to that item.

  • Next you need to hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and start drawing a path starting from your Green Dot, going through hallways and doors until you reach your target item (Make sure to create a simple and logical path to follow to reach the destination)
  • Lastly, you need to click on save path to register it

To view your progress
  • Go to the View Tab to preview your final result, click on any item from the list and you can see the path being drawn on screen from source to destination
